Cabaret Voltaire

[Groovy, Laidback and Nasty sleeve]"Groovy, Laidback and Nasty" (Album, 1990)

A pretty staggering release from a band that pioneered the industrial genre. The dismal white soul/house that dominates this sad album is as hard to accept as the cheesy female vocals that pepper it. In 1990, I picked up the single Keep On which, although late Cabs, was still passable. Unfortunately, the album version isn't even up to that. The second single Easy Life is also included on this album and is probably the 'highlight' of this embarassing release. I only paid £1 for this - but that was £1 too much. It almost pains me to say it, but this is awful. 2/10
